INTRODUCTION
This summer, the Scavengers room is proud to present... the Hunt of the Week competition! Staff here in Scavengers want to acknowledge how the hunts everyone make keep the good times flowing, and what better way to show everyone than to recognize the best of the best hunts? So here’s your chance to prove you can make a hunt better than all the rest!
You’ve got four days each week, from Monday to Thursday, to submit your hunt via our Google Form. Then try to hang on until Sunday, because that’s when the winner is announced, and the winning hunt is started! Keep in mind, dates will be determined via EDT!
Note: HOTW is currently on break.
REVIEWING AND PRIZES
Staff will review all hunt submissions once the submission period is over (on Friday and Saturday) and vote for which we feel is the best. The winning hunt will be announced that Sunday and started for the whole room to solve. It’ll also be featured on our website, where for one week anybody can solve it there, and from then on it’ll stay on a commemorative page on our website for all-time! The winner will also receive an honorary mention in the Scavengers Room Intro for the following week, and win 20 ladder points! If your hunt didn’t win this week, don't worry; all fully correct hunts will be started during the next week for the room to enjoy! Keep in mind, HotW winners can’t win in back-to-back weeks, so that lots of different styles of hunt-makers can win over the weeks.
GUIDELINES
Staff will review all hunts using the following guidelines:
RULES
All Pokemon Showdown! Global Rules will apply to this contest, and any breach of these may lead to disqualification in this week’s contest, future weeks, and any other Scavengers event.

GUIDELINES
Staff will review all hunts using the following guidelines:
- Accuracy: This is the most important category, as hunts must have entirely correct answers to have a chance at winning. Additionally, every hunt should endeavor to avoid alternate answers!
- Thoughtfulness: This category is the next most important! Use your creativity and consideration! Design your questions intelligently!
- Fun: Right behind thoughtfulness in importance! Every hunt should offer hunt solvers an opportunity to test their critical thinking. Questions that avoid the need for guesswork or mindless solving are best!
- Clarity: The last of the categories to consider. What does your question want for an answer? Is it written to allow for easy understanding? Understanding the question should be automatic, not a headache!
RULES
All Pokemon Showdown! Global Rules will apply to this contest, and any breach of these may lead to disqualification in this week’s contest, future weeks, and any other Scavengers event.
- All hunts and questions should be original, and not plagiarized from other users or pre-existing hunts. Be original and think out of the box to stand out!
- Users may submit as many hunts as they wish, but only the most recent hunt will be taken into consideration for the purposes of this contest.
- While collaborating with other users is a great part of what makes Scavengers fun and special, we ask that you do not collaborate with others for this event, and to keep your submissions secret! This is because we will be starting your hunts for other users in the room!
- You may include a maximum of one port, anagram, param, reworded dex entry, psywave, or any puzzle question in each hunt. This is to ensure variety and spice in each hunt!
- In the event that the submission breaches any of the rules in this list, the submission will be disqualified without notification. However, correct questions and hunts submitted may be used in subsequent hunts started for the Scavengers room. All credit will be given to the original makers of the questions!
- In the event of any dispute of the results, the decision of the Scavengers Room Owners is final.
- Lastly, mhave fun!
